I would recommend this film if you’re looking for something free to watch and for originality of the story plot. Like I sad, she did a good job making me hate her while she ran around taking selfies. The ending is somewhat mixed because it’s not completely happy or sad. The story does resolved itself but at a pace that dragged on. Rightfully the climax of the story ends at the tower where Bell returns and her mother follows. Basically both mother and daughter try to take control the situation in different ways. At one point, I thought the film was over but then next scene showed that the film was still going.

Boum’s friend’s Ib comes back to collect on the promise that was made and will do everything she can to make it happen but this is where the movie got to long for me. Now as I mentioned before what I liked about this movie was the original idea of the film. Now again she is only 14 years old and this is how a 14 year old would act so kudos to the actress for making me hate her during these scenes. While her mother is talking to potential business partners, Bell then runs off and is taking selfies all over the tower, ridiculously posing and making faces. When her mother has a meeting at the abandon tower, Bell gets a phone call that interrupts everyone and she apologizes and quickly excuses herself. Her daughter Bell starts off somewhat annoying. After having witness her best friend Ib commit suicide right in front of her, Boum is terrified and leaves.Ģ0 years later, that promise comes back to haunt her and her daughter. Two girls that make a pact to commit suicide together, Ib does follow through on the act but Boum backs out. Now the plot of this story is interesting and I would say original. Apparently construction of this tower was 60% complete and they stopped when the crisis happened. Both female characters and their families are effected by what happens and the story starts from there. The first 5-7mins of the film start very cheerily and then takes a nose-dive into the crisis. Now I either don’t remember this event happening or I never knew. I will give this film credit for exploring this horror story against the true 1997 financial crisis that happened. This was an interesting film, when I first started watching this, I initially loved it but towards the end I felt bored. Now they no longer have that, so I looked under international films and after digging around for what felt like 20mins, I found this. I remember back in the day Netflix had a korean horror category. I was looking for this movie to review for you guys after watching another asian film that I planned on reviewing turned out to be boring (I fell asleep if that tells you anything). Twenty years later, when she re-visits the building with her daughter, Bell, the result of Boum’s past actions returns to haunt them. However, Boum becomes scared and reneges on the promise. The film’s plot revolves around two teenage friends, Ib and Boum, who decide to commit suicide together at an abandon tower building as their families face financial ruin during the 1997 Asian financial crisis.
